Anna Arhanghelschi

Project Manager

Anna deals with project-oriented M&A transactions and restructuring processes. She prepares Insurance Due Diligence reports for private equity investors in the M&A segment and financing banks, as well as providing transaction-related insurance solutions for her clients. Placing and installation of international insurance programs also form part of Anna’s responsibilities.

Anna came from Ukraine to Germany in 2003 and started the academic studies at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. After her graduation, she worked for the M&A-team of an international insurance Broker. From 2014 – 2018, Anna worked as Project Manager for the Transaction Solutions team at Willis Towers Watson.

She is fluent in German, English, Russian and Ukrainian.

Johann Benesch

Director

Johann is a Director in the Howden M&A team and heading the real estate practice in the DACH region. Whilst at Howden, Johann has been involved in some of the milestone private equity and real estate transactions in the German market supporting a diverse set of clients. Prior to joining Howden he worked as a management consultant, focusing on restructuring projects. Johann holds a masters degree in economics (Diplom-Volkswirt) from the University of Bonn, Germany.

Anthony (Tony) Burns

Member of the Supervisory Board

Tony graduated with a university degree as a chemical engineer in the UK. He then spent several years in the USA working as a fire protection engineer and has been working in the insurance industry since 1974. Tony was key account manager in a US insurance company, dealing with large multinational US companies and investments in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Subsequently, Tony worked for international insurance brokers. During his time with Willis Towers Watson he was Senior Consultant in the Transaction Solutions team and led and conducted over 2,000 Due Diligence projects in the M&A sector.

He held the overall responsibility for the preparation of Insurance Due Diligence reports and the insurance and risk migration of the acquired target company. Furthermore, Tony conducted numerous structured finance projects as advisor to lending banks and was Member of the Management Board for various international brokers.

He is fluent both in German and English.

Thomas Elleser

Managing Director

Thomas is responsible for Due Diligence work especially for Non-recourse Project Financing as well as for Private Equity companies in the M&A segment. He specializes in the advisory for conventional energy projects and renewable energy projects for equity investors and institutional lenders.

Thomas holds a degree in business administration from the Berufsakademie in Germany. During his 28 years with Willis Towers Watson, he held leading positions, including Head of German Large Accounts Practice (companies with a yearly sales excess of Euro 500 million) and Co-Head of the Frankfurt Office until 2008, as well as Senior Consultant for the Transaction Solutions team and Member of the German Management Board.

Stephanie Fackelmeyer

Project Manager

Stephanie is responsible for Due Diligence work for Non-recourse Project Financing as well as project-oriented M&A transactions and restructuring processes.

Before joining EURO Transaction Solutions, Stephanie worked for the M&A-team of an international insurance broker. After completing her studies in 2009, Stephanie assumed the position as Project Manager in the Transaction Solutions-team at Willis Towers Watson.

She is fluent in German, English and French.

Gennadiy Kharif

Managing Director

Gennadiy is Executive Director of the German Howden M&A team and is in charge of our operations in the DACH region. Gennadiy joined Howden in 2015 and has since then led the placement of some of the most complex and sizeable W&I policies in the German market. Prior to joining Howden, he was a vice president in Citigroup’s investment banking practice in Frankfurt focusing on M&A transactions in the DACH region. He also spent two years working for Citigroup’s M&A team in Moscow with a particular focus on cross-border transactions between Germany and Russia.  Gennadiy holds a diploma in business administration from the University of Mannheim, Germany and the University of Warwick, UK.

Alessa Krampe

Office Manager

Alessa supports the EURO Transaction Solutions team with project-related work and the preparation of Due Diligence reports as well as all administrative tasks.

After completing her education as bilingual secretary, Alessa started working as a Personal Assistant for senior executives of national and international companies. From 2014 – 2018, Alessa worked in the Transaction Solutions team for an international insurance broker.

She is fluent both in German and English.

Timo Probst

Associate Director

Timo is an Associate Director in the Howden M&A team, based in Munich and the Head of Title Insurance for the DACH region. Timo joined the team in October 2017 and has since then placed more than 100 W&I and title insurance policies on a wide range of real estate transactions. Prior to joining Howden, he worked in the Corporate/M&A team in the Munich office of Clifford Chance on a broad range of M&A transactions for over three years. Timo is a German-qualified lawyer who has been closely involved in execution and negotiation of multiple corporate and real estate transactions in Germany. Timo graduated from the University of Passau and absolved his legal clerkship (Referendariat) in Munich and New York where he trained and worked with the international law firm Hogan Lovells.

Dr. Peter Ratz

Associate Director

Peter is an Associate Director and lawyer in the Howden M&A team. Peter joined the team in January 2018 and has since then placed more than 100 W&I and title insurance policies.

Prior to joining Howden he worked for Bilfinger, a leading German-based industrial services provider, on the execution of M&A transactions from a legal perspective. Prior to joining Bilfinger, Peter worked in the Vienna offices of Freshfields, a leading magic-circle law firm, and Schönherr, a leading Austrian law firm, with a particular focus on corporate law and M&A transactions. Peter is an Austrian-qualified lawyer who has been closely involved in execution and negotiation of multiple M&A transactions. Peter graduated from the University of Vienna and holds a PhD from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt and a degree in international relations from the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium).

Jürgen is assuming responsibility for M&A transactions and Structured Finance projects, he prepares Due Diligence reports and risk analyses. Placing and installation of international insurance programs form part of Jürgen’s responsibilities.

Jürgen worked for different international insurance brokers. From 2009 – 2018, he was Head of the Transaction Solutions team for an international insurance broker. Furthermore, he assumed the role as National Practice Leader Liability and Financial Lines and was Member of the German Board of Management. Jürgen has been lecturing in numerous insurance academies for over 20 years.

Mario Thiem

Managing Director

Mario joined Euro Transaction Solutions in October 2020 and is responsible for Due Diligence work in the M&A segment.

Prior to joining ETS, Mario worked as Key Account Manager in the M&A and Real Estate sector and was Head of the Real Estate department of an international insurance broker for Germany and Austria. During this period, he was responsible for the placement of international insurance programmes and major loss management for a number of global real estate companies. Strategic advice, digitalization as well as resource management for key account customers also formed part of his responsibilities.

Mario holds a Master degree in Business Management (CCI) and a degree as Bachelor Professional of Insurance and Finance (CCI).

Dr. Severin Zörgiebel

Associate Director

Severin is an Associate Director in the Howden M&A team, DACH region. Severin joined Howden in April 2017 and has been driving the growth of Howden’s private equity advisory practice. Prior to joining Howden, he was co-founder of a London-based FinTech company. He also spent two years in Citigroup’s investment banking team in Frankfurt focusing on M&A transactions in the DACH region. Severin holds a Ph.D. in finance from the Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany and a Master’s degree in business administration from the University of Mannheim, Germany and the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark.
